(Sunday, October 18, 2009) - ~ The 2009 racing season was a difficult year for the sport of short track auto racing. The economic conditions combined with foul weather each led to an expensive year for various race teams. As for the weather, Big Diamond Raceway suffered a dozen rain-outs in 2009 alone. Therefore, in an effort to save race teams money, Big Diamond Raceway will not be holding an Awards Party for 2009. Point fund checks for each of BDR's divisions will be sent through the mail. (Saturday, October 03, 2009) - ~ The 2009 season has officially been completed at Big Diamond Raceway. Brad Krause of Deer Lake, Chris Holland of Pine Grove and Jody Brensinger of Orwigsburg each earned victories in the 2009 Nutty Buddy Enduro season finale races. After cruising to a victory in a special 20-lap exhibition race earlier this season, Brad Krause has been on a roll. MOTHER NATURE SWEEPS DIAMOND NATIONALS CARD FOR SECOND STRAIGHT SEASON...BY GARY LILECK
(Sunday, September 27, 2009) - ~ Rain and wet grounds forced the cancellation of Sunday's Landis C. Deck/Yuengling Diamond Nationals. A rain storm started Saturday aftternoon and continued to linger within the Big Diamond Raceway area, nullifying the entire Diamond Nationals weekend. The exact same scenario took place during last year's Nationals. As a matter of fact, only three races have actually been completed in the Diamond Nationals since the idea was born in 2006.
